Angel among the flowers

I lay back among the flowers
That match those in your hair
And feel the music created
That plays across my skin.

The instruments in the quartet
Working their perfect song
The sun, wind, your hair, and your touch
A tune ever so delicate.

I open my eyes to hold you
And I smile when I see
That clouds moving behind you
Have created lovely wings

I reach up and touch the flowers
That I’ve made for your hair
And compare you to an angel
That came down from the air.

I bend my body to touch you
Our lips meet in mid air
The sweetness that’s there to greet me
Brings an unbidden tear.

That I could live in this moment
Forever and a day
Holding and touching an angel
I’d feel I was in heaven
